If these numbers intrigue you, you may be the person we’re looking for. To ‘board’ bol.com, of course, which is what it spells. The binary is a joke, but you can rest assured that bol.com internships are not. Every position presents a unique opportunity to sink your teeth into a technically challenging IT project. So, are you enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in IT and eager to learn more about these projects?
About the internship
All of our IT internships require you to complete an actual project, and bol.com grants you considerable latitude to determine how you approach your assignment. Self-organization is our preferred way of developing. We’ll be there to support you, of course. Your team members can answer any questions you may have, and they’ll gladly discuss your insights and ideas. You’ll also be assigned an experienced colleague who can offer assistance in a mentoring capacity. And as a member of The Guild, you can share your experiences with fellow interns over drinks or while playing a game of FIFA 2018.
Two assignments: which one has your name on it?
We expect our interns to make a difference for our millions of customers, thousands of partners and over 1.300 colleagues. So regardless of the project you take on, you’ll have an impact. There are two projects to choose from, each with a distinct set of technological challenges. The projects are:
Assignment #1: Evaluating application traffic load balancing
Assignment #2: Chart the advantages of physical hardware versus virtualization
Who are you?
- You’ll combine the duration of your graduation internship with your ongoing bachelor’s or master’s program at an accredited educational institution (HBO/WO)
- You’re available for the 3 to 4+ months it will take to complete your assignment, starting date is around February 2018
- You want to work on your assignment full time
- You look forward to working at the bol.com office (that’s where magic happens)
- You’re eager to learn from and share your insights with the 350 of IT professionals that run our platforms on a ‘build IT, run IT, love IT’ basis
What else should you know?
That the work environment is open, informal, no-nonsense and geared towards people who like to share their successes and ‘failures’ proactively. Benefits include acquiring knowledge from experienced IT professionals, attending workshops and gaining experience with the latest tooling. If you’re so inclined, there are also opportunities to break a sweat on our soccer field or in the games room, have drinks with 1.300 inspiring colleagues and to join bol.com after your internship as an IT Young Professional. Interns are paid € 500 per month (full-time internship).
