Do you want to be part of a build & run team, and help colleagues gain insight into applications? Become System Engineer scrum tooling at!

Over 7 million Dutch and Belgian customers already know that is a great place to shop. Because we offer over ten million products. Because it’s easy to browse our products on any device. And because every visit is an inspiring, ‘strictly personal’ customer journey, our IT landscape has to meet the highest standards. Do you want to work in a large, high-stakes environment where we realize that mistakes are made? We’re looking for autonomous and technically mature system engineers to fortify our current team. You will participate in a team that has real scope to effectuate technical improvements, and where you will be evaluated based on results.

As System Engineer scrum tooling you are responsible for the development, administration and innovation of all the IT tooling we use within Together with your colleagues, you’ll build systems that collect enormous amounts of data and make that data accessible. We mostly use open source software but occasionally we’ll build a missing piece ourselves. You are also continuously addressing the question how we can keep both systems manageable and scalable as the environment continues to grow around us.

In brief

  • Build, deploy, run and optimize platforms;
  • Develop tools to facilitate integration, dashboards, and so forth;
  • Initiate and effect improvements

Who you are

As System Engineer, you embrace configuration management, monitoring, metrics and logging as the foundation of administering your scalable production environment. You don’t just talk about the best solutions, you build and maintain them. You base your decisions on facts. You enjoy experimenting with new systems, because seeing = believing. You stay on top of developments in your field and apply them to lift yourself and to the next level. Being on standby is not a problem. But you also appreciate a good night’s sleep and false positives are not conductive.

Must haves

  • Demonstrable experience in a system engineering position;
  • Experience with Linux, runs on RedHat.
  • Experience with Puppet (PuppetDB, Hiera, MCollective)
  • Experience with Python or GO is an advantage

Your work environment has one of the best work environments you’ll ever encounter. From the casual atmosphere, to the invigorating energy of the building with its open spaces, to the overall high standard of professionalism.

We embrace innovation and new technologies. We encourage employees to investigate and implement new techniques and technologies. We’re also interested in what makes you tick as a person, in your desires, ambitions, and what projects suit you best. And then there are all the other reasons, including going to conferences, meetups, and trainings (all paid for by, an on campus soccer field, hackathons (last year we had 3 of them), fitness facilities, table tennis tournaments, massage chairs, a “Choose Your Own Device” program, a games room and our Friday afternoon get-togethers with drinks at our own bar.
